Rep. Elise Stefanik says she is suspending her campaign for New York governor and will not seek reelection to Congress.

49% of those polled said they would vote for Hochul in next year's election for governor, compared to 30% for Stefanik.

The governor met with at least one potential candidate over the weekend at a conference in Puerto Rico.

Stefanik has traveled the state for months, meeting with GOP leaders as she laid the political groundwork.
