Have a lesson in the authentic 1887 schoolhouse, try your hand at traditional games and activities, and explore the beautiful grounds. Empire Brick Con

October 17 – 18, 2026

Whether you’re a first-time builder or a lifelong fan, you will be amazed by the hundreds of original LEGO© creations you will find by top LEGO© artists from across the country at Empire Brick Con, a LEGO® fan expo presented by ROCLUG & Empire Bricks NY.

Join us for an unforgettable weekend featuring incredible builds across the Museum, LEGO©-themed Hot Glass Demonstrations, collaborative build sites, games, vendors, and more!

What you can expect:

Original creations: LEGO© artists from across the U.S. will showcase their best work, big and small! Stand back and take it all in, or get up close and inspect every intricate detail. Prepare to leave inspired after seeing amazing builds and talking to the creators behind them.

Interactive displays: Contribute to a massive mural made entirely of LEGO© Bricks.

Vendors: Find LEGO© sets, new and old. Whether you’re looking for that one minifigure from your childhood or a rare find, you'll have plenty to choose from.

Admission to Empire Brick Con is free with Museum admission (meaning kids and teens 17 and under are free) and is good for two consecutive days.

Dr. David Gellman, the 2026-27 A. Lindsay O’Connor Chair of American Institutions in the history department at Colgate University, will discuss that as America’s 250th gives way to the 2027 bicentennial of the final abolition of slavery in New York, the moment is ideal to contemplate the relationship between independence and emancipation in the Empire State.

John Jay, diplomat, US Supreme Court Chief Justice, governor, slaveholder, and antislavery society president, provides a powerful prism for making sense of an uneven but profound transformation. The relationship between Caesar, Clarinda, Zilpah, and members of the Jay family who enslaved and later freed them entwines with the ways that this influential political family navigated the fulfillment of their antislavery beliefs. The talk thus merges public and private lives to contemplate the limits and the potential of the American Revolution. Gellman is the author of "Liberty’s Chain: Slavery, Abolition, and the Jay Family of New York," winner of the Herbert H. Lehman Prize.

Master Pryor’s Tae Kwon Do (MPTKD) will host its annual Kickathon on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oswego High School, located at 2 Buccaneer Blvd., Oswego, NY 13126.

MPTKD believes that success is built on more than strong kicks and sharp forms—it is also built on discipline, focus, and dedication in the classroom. This event benefits an academic scholarship fund created to support students who are working hard both in martial arts and in their education, helping the next generation of leaders, black belts, and scholars reach their full potential.

The family-friendly community event features a variety of entertainment, activities, and local vendors, including:

• Taekwondo Demo Team Performance: 1 p.m.
• Activities & Entertainment: Face painting, door prizes, raffles, a 50/50 raffle, and a bake sale.
• Food: Local food trucks.

The Friends of Lorenzo will showcase the bedecked Mansion for A Victorian Holiday. This year, our amazing volunteer decorators have taken their inspiration from Lorenzo itself! Join us for A Victorian Holiday at Lorenzo! Built in 1807, Lorenzo has been restored to its 1890-1930 time period, which has inspired this year’s theme. Our amazing decorators will be going all out with Victorian Christmas charm and décor! Look for traditional glass ornaments, paper chains, popcorn and cranberry strands, lace, beads and more. With support from the Friends of Lorenzo, this annual holiday celebration will feature refreshments, live music, and horse-drawn sleigh/wagon rides. Event admission: Adults $6.00, Children 12 and under $2.00.
